Citrange, 'Benton'

Woodlanders has been a leader in offering a wide range of Citrus and Citrus hybrids which are hardy outdoors beyond the normal Citrus growing areas.  'Benton', like most other Citranges is cold hardy, not very edible, but ornamental and used as understock on which to graft other citrus.  Citrange juice when diluted and with sugar added can make a refreshing drink.  This Ponciris x Sweet Orange hybrid originated in Australia and sometimes produces curious "fingered" fruits.  It is dense, thorny, and has mostly trifoliate leaves.
