Justicia brandegeana

Shrimp Plant

Shrimp Plant is so called because of the shape and color of the terminal flower clusters. This subtropical plant is native of Mexico and is an evergreen shrub in frost free climates. In colder areas it is grown as an annual or in much of the Deep south it is perennial in protected spots with winter mulch. A showy plant that is good for hot weather flowering when grown in full sun or part shade with good soil and minimal competition from other plants.
