This twining woody deciduous vine native to the southern U.S. has compound leaves and short clusters of blue flowers appearing with the leaves. A much less rampant vine than the common Asian Wisterias. This native Wisteria was virtually unknown to American gardeners when first introduced by Woodlanders. It is tolerant of varying conditions but best in sunny location with ample moisture where it makes a good vine for an arbor or trellis.
