Hibiscus militaris

Halberd-leaf Hibiscus
A relatively widespread native perennial Hibiscus found along streams and in wet areas in the southern U.S. The leaves and stems are smooth and the pointed leaves are halberd shaped. The flowers borne in summer are a pink with a reddish base. Like the other perennial wetland Hibiscus, this species is fine in the sunny bed or border with irrigation.
