Coreopsis integrifolia

Coreopsis, Chipola River

Chipola River Coreopsis is a relatively rare species known from only a few counties from southern South Carolina to north Florida.  It is a choice perennial with basal leaves that are opposite, dark green, and with entire edges.  In fall it produces showy deep yellow flowers with dark centers on stems held well above the foliage.  It is a bit stoloniferous but not invasive.  Plant in a sunny location with good soil and adequate moisture.
