Cunninghamia lanceolata
Chinafir
Chinafir is a large, pyramidal, often multi-trunked coniferous evergreen tree with rather long flattened needles in more or less two dimensional arrangement on twigs. It bears interesting small cones and is an attrative and somewhat curious conifer long planted in the South. It is sometimes confused with the Monkeypuzzle Tree (Araucaria araucana). It should have moist, acid, well-drained soil and ample space to develop. Benefits from occasional grooming to remove dead shoots and branches. Native to China
