Rayner's Blueberry
An extremely rare and local evergreen blueberry is found only in one locality in Lexington County, SC. Related and similar to Vaccinum crassifolium but with more upright growh habit and much larger leaves. It can be tailing or upright to 2 feet. It occurs in sandy acid soil with a high water table or ample moisture but not subject to flooding. This is an interesting and attractive rare plant for the right site.
