Blueberry, Florida evergreen
Vaccinium darrowii is an evergreen shrub with small leaves that are typically blue-green. This clone we found in Higlands County, Florida was selected and named by Woodlanders for its ornamental qualities. 'Sebring' has very small green leaves and makes an attractive garden subject with the typical small bell-like blueberry flowers and small edible fruits. This species is native to the Deep South where it grows in pinelands on sandy acid soils that are well-drained or at least never flood. It should be grown in a sunny location for best effect.
