Rhododendron atlanticum x austrinum (Pale Yellow)

Native Azalea Hybrid

This fragrant early pale yellow flowered hybrid azalea is from a cross of two native azaleas which do not occurs together in the wild. Made some years ago by the late Robert Mackintosh it was introduced by Woodlanders. The flowers are similar to Rhododendron austrinum but it does not get as large as that species and is now so stoloniferous as the other parent species.
