Yellow-flowered Pomegranate

Pomegranate is a deciduous Middle-eastern shrub with small narrow leaves, orange flowers, and orange-red large edible fruits for which it has been cultivated since ancient times. Some ornamental varieties have showy double flowers and rarely set fruit. This uncommon selection has pale yellow flowers rather than typical orange. It is a double flowered form so rarely produces fruit. We originally propagated it many years ago from a plant in an old private garden in Williamsburg, VA. Pomegranates should have sun or semi-shade and well-drained soil.
