Lyonia lucida

Fetterbush
Fetterbush is an upright somewhat arching evergreen shrub with glossy leaves that have a vein along the smooth leaf edge. It grows in damp acid soils in the southeastern U.S. from Virginia southward. The plants produce small white or pink bell-shaped flowers in spring. Plant in moist acid soil in sun or semi-shade and mulch with pine needles. Plants may be rejuvenated and made more dense by hard pruning in spring.
