It has heart-shaped leaves and large terminal clusters of fragrant white flowers in summer followed by showy clusters of pea size blue fruits backed by a reddish calyx. Plant in full sun in area with good moist but well-drained soil and where the suckering habit will not be a problem.  It may requires supplemental water during drought periods.
