Baccharis angustifolia

False Willow

This Baccharis is a salt tolerant semi-evergreen upright shrub with small narrow glossy willow-like leaves.  It is found in saline coastal marsh areas but grows well in ordinary garden soil in full sun.  It is a graceful, attractive, and little-known shrub in the Composite family that could probably be sheared as a hedge.  It is native to immediate coastal area of the southeastern U.S. and was probably first offered by Woodlanders.
