Sasanqua Camellia, 'Julia Mackintosh'
Two species of Camellia are commonly grown in American gardens. They are Camellia japonica and Camellia sasanqua. There are countless varieties of each. This seedling selection of Camellia sasanqua which occurred here at Woodlanders was selected and propagated by George Mitchell and named for the late Julia Mackintosh who with her husband Robert founded Woodlanders.
