Myrtle Oak is a small evergreen tree with small glossy leaves.  Growth habit is irregular and often shrubby.  This is a fine little ornamental oak for deep sandy soils in mild climate areas.  It is native to scrub and sandy pine habitats from South Carolina southward.  Typically produces abundant small acorns.
