Viburnum x burkwoodii 'Park Farm Hybrid'

Viburnum, Park Farm Hybrid

Viburnum x burkwoodii is a hybrid between Viburnum carlesii and V. utile.  Classic Viburnums nursery in Nebraska states:  "This is a sister seedling to V. x burkwoodii, raised by Burkwood and Skipwith, England.  Evergreen foliage is very glossy and longer and not as wide as other V. x burkwoodii varities.  The flowers are also larger and the buds are a deeper pink.  The flowers are reported to last up to 2 weeks but this is highly dependant upon temperature and wind conditions.   Mature size may be 8-10' high and wide.  This plant has been used in hybridization work by Dr. Michael Dirr using V. macrocephalum var.. keteleeri and backcrossed with V. utile".
