Koelreuteria paniculata 'Woodlanders Low Form'
Goldenrain Tree, Low Form
Goldenrain tree is a medium size deciduous tree with compound leaves and showy panicles of small yellow flowers. We originally received this variety from Chollipo Arboretum in Korea where it grew near coastal beaches as a shrubby form. We offered it years ago and have a specimen planted here. David Geiger found a small tree labeled "Woodlanders Low Form" at Cornell Arboretum in New York. He took seed from this to Massachussets where he grew a quantity of seedlings which he shared with us. This is an example of how plants can travel. It may be the same tree which has been distributed as 'Beachmaster'. We invite you to try this nice ornamental small tree.
