The Indonesian Cinnamon is an evergreen tree with glossy 3-4 inch long leaves. It's bark is the source of as much as 80% of the commercial Cinnamon sold in the U.S. This tree is native to southeastern Asia but may extend northward into China. Our friend the late Bill Cawthon who shared cuttings of this tree with us claimed it has been half hardy in southeastern Alabama which is zone 8. We are growing a number of Cinnamomum species but have not tested this one for cold hardiness in our area.
