Speirantha gardenii

False Lily of the Valley
Sperirantha is a relatively little-known Chinese woodland perennial with foliage resembling Lily of the Valley (Convallaria). It seems to be a good little plant forming spreading clumps in the woodland or shady garden where there is good soil with adequate moisture. In spring it produces short spikes of little star-like pure white flowers. We obtained this plant, probably a relatively recent introduction from China, from the J.C. Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, N.C.
