Wafer-ash

Hop Tree is a small bushy decidous tree that is quite adaptable. It has trifoliate leaves and very fragrant small yellowish flowers in spring followed by persistent wafer-like winged seeds. It is a larval food plant sought by butterflies and butterfly lovers.  It is native to eastern North America and into the Southwest.
