Tea Olive 'Conger Yellow'

Tea Olive is an evergreen Asian shrub that can become almost tree-like in mild climates. The leaves are about 3 inches long with small marginal teeth. It is highly prized in southern U.S. gardens for the deliciously fragrant small white flowers that appear in fall. In colder regions it is a prized greenhouse plant. Dr. Michael Dirr in his Manual of Woody Landscape Plants says: "Flowers appear over such a great time frame and are so fragrant that to not try the plant is to cheat one's garden." "Conger Yellow" is a yellow-flowered and rather large leafed cultivar of this big evergreen shrub.
