Mexican Flame Vine

This subtropical Senecio is an herbaceous vine with glossy green nearly succulent leaves. It is evergreen in frost free areas but otherwise a die-back perennial for a protected area with winter mulch.  Wonderful orange-red flowers with yellow centers in terminal clusters appear from mid-spring to fall - sometimes year round in frost free areas. It thrives in full sun and is a very ornamental vine for a trellis or fence in warm areas.   It is native to Mexico.
