Pomegranate
Pomegranate is a deciduous Middle-eastern shrub with small narrow leaves, orange flowers, and orange-red large edible fruits for which it has been cultivated since ancient times. Some ornamental varieties have showy double flowers and rarely set fruit. This selection was one we have grown from seed of a good fruiting specimen in upstate South Carolina and may represent the widely grown fruiting variety 'Wonderful'. Pomegranate should have a fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny location.
