Cork Oak

Cork Oak is a spreading medium size tree with dull evergreen leaves about 2 inches long and with slight marginal serrations. It is native to the Mediterranean region where it's bark is harvested as the source of commercial cork in Spain and Portugal.. Cork Oak thrives in the Mediterranean climate of California. Though rarely available, it grows very well in the southern U.S. if properly sited in a sunny location with well-drained soil.
