Rhododendron eastmanii

May White Azalea

Maywhite Rhododendron is a rather recently described species from the South Carolina midlands.  It was probably first found by Mike Creel of Lexington, SC a retired Dept of Natural Resources employee who was our source.   It has white flowers and is similar to R. alabamense but later flowering. Cultivate as with other native azaleas
