Himalayan Indigo

This medium to large shrub bears rosy purple flowers in 5 inch long racemes produced from axils of the compound leaves summer through fall. The leaves are made up of many small leaflets along a midrib.  Dr. Michael Dirr in his Manual of Woody Landscape Plants says: "This species has performed admirably in our Georgia tests." Plant is sun or semi-shade in well-drained soil.
