Loose open shrub with fine cedar-like but not evergreen foliage. Flowers are rosy-pink, plume-like panicles in late spring. Acid, well-drained soil. Saline and dry soil tolerant. Prohibited in North Dakota. Native from southern Europe to central Asia.
