Round Leaf Holly Osmanthus
Holly Osmanthus is a medium to large evergreen shrub with dark green spiny, holly-like foliage and small fragrant white flowers. It grows to 10 to 15 feet and makes a good hedge in sun or partial shade. This selection has curious rounded and heavy textured leaves. It is a compact and slower growing form of Holly Osmanthus and is a bit less cold hardy than the more typical forms but is an interesting and uncommon plant for zones 8-9. Osmanthus heterophyllus is native to Japan and is sometimes listed as Osmanthus ilicifolius.
