This relative of Gordonia lasianthus is a very glossy small evergreen tree or large shrub native to southeast Asia is rarely cultivated in the U.S. It bears abundant 3 inch showy white flowers. A beautiful species for mild regions it is probably best in zone 9 and warmer parts of zone 8. We originally propagated cuttings of this from a specimen then in cultivation at the famouls Tom Dodd Nurseries in Semmes, Alabama.
