Dwarf Pawpaw

This Pawpaw is similar to Asimina triloba (which see) but it has smaller leaves, flowers and fruits.  Typically a shrub or rarely a small tree which is not colony forming.  It grows on drier sites, usually woodland hillsides.  It is native from southern Virginia southward and is rare in cultivation.
