Salix tristis

Willow, Dwarf Gray

This small willow is a dwarf grayish deciduous shrub we originally collected in Jefferson County, Florida where it grew in pine flatwoods on well-drained sites.  It is considered to be Salix humulis by most botanists but J.K. Small in Manual of the Southeastern Flora separates it on smaller size and technical characters.  This willow is a neat small shrub willow for the sunny garden.
