Gordlinia

Dr. Tom Ranney of the North Carolina State University Experiment Station in Fletcher, NC recently succeeded in crossing the iconic Franklinia alatamaha (which see) with it's relative, Gordonia lasianthus (which see) to obtain the x Gordlinia.  Intermediate between the two parents and with large showy white flowers, it could prove to be a fine ornamental tree that is more easily grown than either parent.  We are pleased to be able to offer this exciting new plant and look forward to positive feedback from serious horticultural enthusiasts and ordinary gardeners.
