Halesia carolina (tetraptera)
Carolina Silverbell
A small to medium size deciduous tree native in the southeastern U.S., the Silverbell makes an outstanding landscape ornamental in places with deep, fertile, well-drained soil with ample moisture. It can be used much like the common Dogwood (Cornus florida) and is favored for the many little white bell like flowers in spring. The gray striped bark and yellow fall color are other attributes.
