Sabal louisiana

Lousiana Palmetto

Like a Sabal minor on steroids, this palm has been variously classified as a form of Sabal minor and a hybrid with Sabal texana. Ours originated in the well-known Brazoria County, Texas population and may be different from the trunked palmettos in far south Louisiana. Does best when planted as a lone specimen or in a group planting with others of its kind. Plant in heavy moist soil in sun or semi shade. First offered by Woodlanders.
