Ceanothus x delilianus ''Gloire de Versailles''

Ceanothus, 'Gloire de Versailles hybrid

'Glorie des Versailles' is a deciduous shrub that can scramble to 10 feet in favorable areas if not pruned back. It is a cross between Ceanothus americanus and the Mexican Ceanothus coeruleus.  It has large panicles of powder blue flowers from summer to fall.  It is an excellent shrub in England and the U.S. Pacific Coast and perhaps the most satisfactory of the blue flowered Ceanothus in the southeastern U.S. if sited on very well-drained soil in sun and not over irrigated in summer.
