Strawberry Tree Hybrid
Evergreen small tree similar to Arbutus unedo with white bell-like flowers and pink, strawberry-like fruit. On older plants the bark becomes a rich red-brown color. Salt tolerant. Dark green leaves are 1.5 to 4 inches long. Hybrid between A unedo and the Grecian Strawberry Tree (A. andrachne). We originally got this plant from Brookside Gardens in Maryland which had obtained it in Europe.
