Wisteria frutescens
American Wisteria
Twining woody deciduous vine with compound leaves and short cluster of blue flowers appearing with the leaves. A much less rampant vine than the common Asian Wisterias. This native vine was virtually unknown to American gardeners when introduced by Woodlanders. Tolerant of varying conditions but best in sunny location with ample moisture. A good vine for an arbor or trellis.
