Semi-evergreen vine of restrained habit. Leaves blue-green with some encircling the stem. Flowers normally bright red but this selection a clear yellow. It is a compact repeat bloomer selected by the Virginia Native Plant Society. Found on the grounds of historic seventeeth century Abington Church in Gloucester County, Virginia. Named for the colonial botanist Rev. John Clayton of Gloucester County. Lonicera sempervirens is a favorite "mailbox vine".
