Clerodendron x speciosa (thomsoniae x splendens) is a showy vine which climbs by twining. It is a hybrid between Clerodendron thomsoniae, the "Bleeding Heart Vine" and C. splendens. This showy climber is much like the former except flowers are without the white parts. Calyx is purplish red and petals are rosy to deep red. It is a showy sub-tropical vine with attractive dark green foliage. It freezes to the ground in frost prone areas but comes back if mulched.
