Woodlanders was founded in 1980 in Aiken, South Carolina. Since that time we have been constantly evaluating new native plants species and selections that we find or receive from friends and colleagues. We are also introducing many new plants from around the world that we find in our travels, obtain from arboreta and botanical gardens, plant hunting expeditions, and contacts in other lands. Woodlanders tends to concentrate on new plants for warm climate areas which have historically been neglected in the introduction of new ornamental plants. As we successfully cultivate and come to appreciate these plants in our nursery and garden, we bring them to you long before the become generally available. Our introductions are now grown in gardens worldwide and many have become more widely available through other nurseries.

Woodlanders owes deep gratitude to the many authors, garden writers, and horticultural program producers who have always given us favorable national and international coverage. This has greatly expanded our base of loyal and dedicated customers who further spread the word. As in the past we look forward to serving you in the coming year with the kinds of plants and personal service you have come to expect.
